The Rays of the Sun: The Inexpensive Way of Exposing the Screen

The sun has never fallen short of the expectations of man regarding its usefulness. It seems to amaze people every time they discover that they use the radiance of the sun to do their business and sources for living. For example farmers, use the sun to dry up all the rice plants and in the process produce hundreds of rice sacks. The same goes for the fishermen who sell dried fish in the market. People who are interested in screen printing no longer have to buy dryers and exposure tables just to dry up the screen for design printing in garments. This goes without saying that they can use the sun absolutely free of charge.

The sun as we all know is a powerful source of light. Thus, a person can use the sun to keep the screen and the finished artwork dry. However, the period of exposure is not constant since heat from the sun differs with the weather situations and time of the year. For example, people during winter should expose the artwork for forty minutes. However, only twenty minutes of sun exposure us suggested during summer. On the other hand, cloudy weather proves more difficulty since it takes about two hours.

The problem with the sun as a tool for exposing the artwork is the uncertainty of the weather. Sometimes, even though it's very hot and sunny during the day, afternoons could bring in rain. This might distort the artwork especially if it rains during the exposure session. As a warning, people should check the weather and plan before doing screen printing using sun exposure. Even though there are issues related to this, as far as practicality and availability is concerned, the sun is the most efficient means for exposing the artwork.
