The Importance of Tunnel Dryers
The Importance of Tunnel Dryers
When printing large quantities of garments and T-shirts, manufacturers cannot make use of the conventional way of drying them -- exposing them to the UV rays of the sun. This process takes a great deal of time, and doing that means that manufacturing deadlines may be impossible to meet. Since screen-printed T-shirts are very popular, many manufacturers also produce hundreds to thousands of screen-printed T-shirts per day. With tunnel dryers, the time it takes to dry prints is now relatively quicker.
This is exactly why tunnel dryers are very important to T-shirt manufacturers (big or small), all over the globe. The time it takes to produce screen-printed T-shirts is reduced almost to a half. Now, manufacturers can produce more T-shirts in a short amount of time. Less time means more production; more production means more profit.
Some inks used in T-shirt printing do not require too much heat to dry. In this case, air drying is the only way to accomplish the task. Most tunnel dryers have an air dry feature which is useful when the prints are made up of air-dry inks. The quantity of T-shirts produced also varies, depending on the tunnel dryer's size. Some larger tunnel dryers produce approximately twenty-four dozens of T-shirts an hour. There is also another screen printing equipment that helps in drying prints. The so-called spot cure also works the same as tunnel dryers. The only downside though is that these spot curers can only produce a couple of dozen printed T-shirts per week. That's still slow compared to a tunnel dryer!
