Plastisol ink is widely used for fabric, most especially t-shirt printing. It is the ink or paint used for screen printing and it is what makes design images clearer and more accurate. It is most commonly utilized in garment and fabric printing such as t-shirt because the ink is convenient to use, and they don't easily dry up through the screens. The practicality and suitability to printing of plastisol ink materials attract businessmen in the screen printing world. Generally, the two dominating ingredients or substances behind plastisol ink are PVC resin and plasticizer. PVC resin is a white powder, while plasticizer is a thick colorless liquid.
One of the fascinating characteristics of plastisol inks is that they have to be put in a high temperature environment before they dry up. Plastisol ink is different since it requires a lot of heat unlike other substances that dry up in normal temperature. Basically, a lot of materials that can endure the necessary heat to dry the plastisol inks can be printed on using this material. Some of the examples include fabric and textiles. The thing with plastisol is that they don't act like dyes which color through a fabric, instead it goes together with the fabric. Since this is the scenario, they can't go together with materials such as glass, plastic and metal for they have non-porous substrates. Aside from that, waterproof nylon can't go with plastisol ink unless there is an agent that will facilitate the process. In the end, plastisol inks may be beneficial but it can be dangerous, if not handled properly.
